North Cumbria Patrons, of whom there are more than sixty, give financial support to our Candidates fighting in General elections in Carlisle, Copeland, Penrith and the Border and Workington constituencies.

Members pay a yearly subscription of £250or £400 for a couple; this includes Party membership and is payable monthly, quarterly or yearly. 50% of the income is used to provide the Patrons with a variety of fine dining experiences and receptions. In the last year we have enjoyed lunch at Leeming House on the shores of Ullswater and Farlam Hall Country House Hotel, plus four days in Dublin during which we visited the Parliament and experienced an unforgettable Irish Night.

Recently we had the pleasure of meeting Trudy Harrison MP, who joined us at Heather Glen Country House Hotel. As Cumbria's newest Member of Parliament she gave us a personal insight into her involvement with her local community which led her to being elected not once but twice in as many months as the first Conservative MP for Copeland since 1935.

At the request of members, planning is now under way for a visit to the European Parliament in Brussels in Spring 2018. Our visits to the 'Portals of Power' have proved very popular, with numbers growing every years.

While politics can be very serious and often much maligned, the friendship and camaraderie which exists within North Cumbria Patrons is commented upon by many. Application forms are available from the Penrith and the Border Conservatives at Tel: 01228 521192 (mornings). I would be pleased to answer any questions you may have if you are considering joining us.
